OUR HOLISTIC TREATMENTS

Holistic pet care has different meanings for different people. Dr. Doug Knueven practices an integrative approach to pet care. He is well versed in conventional veterinary medicine and has been licensed since 1987. He is also certified in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and chiropractic. He is a member of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association and has advanced training in natural nutrition, massage therapy, homeopathy, and a host of other alternative therapies.

At Beaver Animal Clinic, Dr. Doug offers a full range of options for the treatment of disease and the maintenance of health. Western medicine tends to focus on fighting disease while holistic medicine strives to strengthen the body. These two goals are not necessarily mutually exclusive. An integrative practitioner works with the best of what these two philosophies have to offer picking and choosing from the full menu of options to put together a treatment plan that is ideal for the individual pet and her caregiver.

Dr. Amanda Brown also practices an integrative approach to pet care. She has furthered her education and passion by studying Chinese Veterinary Medicine at the Chi Institute. She is also a Certified Animal Chiropractor. She has a special interest in herbology, nutrition, nutraceuticals, and alternative therapy.
